History of the firm
The history of the present firm stems from the roots of the human rights firm of Thakurdin & Maharaj which commenced during 1987 in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. The firm represented primarily political activists in the dark days of Apartheid. That firm evolved since then taking on other professional persons and eventually culminated in the present firm with offices situated in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu Natal and Johannesburg, Gauteng. Consequently the firm has a long history having traversed the changes that took place in our country
The firm evolved over the years from being a primarily human rights firm to a commercial practice, representing a variety of private, public, state owned entities and individuals, whilst acting with the principles that formed the cornerstone of its formation
